Happy Mother's Day...

Vin called us on Skype this morning to say Happy Mother's Day and give me my card (below) and Mother's Day cake (below below). He made the card out of 3 different pictures (one from Dillon and I on the train yesterday, one from Atticus on the train yesterday, and one of himself), but since it looked a bit strange he touched it up a bit to smooth out the lines and make it look like one photo (Dill looks a bit scary).

Atticus 'blew' out the candle more than a few times.

Mom made a nice breakfast and the boys gave me 2 roses and a gift card to Lululemon. It was a really nice morning.

We'd all just crawled out of bed.

And then for lunch we went to my cousin, Karla, and her husband, Shawn's welcome party for their adopted kids from Jamaica.

(Dill played with the chairs while we ate; just thought this was a funny picture what with the wide leg stance and big round head on such a little neck - it's a wonder he can even hold it up)

Travion and Danipha with their welcome cake. Super nice kids that have really adjusted to their new life and family so well. We're so happy to call them family.

Their parents didn't want them to get a bunch of gifts, so instead we all either chipped in for bikes or gave them gift cards to things they could do as a family (movie, supper, zoo...).

He can ride it, but he can't stop it!

She can ride it and stop it.

We came home afterwards for naps and then headed out for supper with the immediate family. Atticus was too busy playing during lunchtime to eat, so he was pretty happy bread was supplied before the main course was served.

This monkey did not stick to our afternoon nap schedule so had to catch a quick one before supper came.

They shared chicken fingers and fries.

He finally figured out that he had to tip the cup up to get any water.

It was a really great Mother's Day, and a rather busy one at that. Now we have a couple days to get ready for our little trip to BC and then we're off! Can't wait!! Happy Mother's Day, Mom!
