Abbotsford, B.C. - May 18

It was a bit of a drizzly overcast day but really quite pleasant to be at the zoo. We met the Browne clan over there after our morning at the laundromat.

Atticus just trucking along holding onto his monkey buddy's tail.

I brought the back carrier in case Atticus got tired of walking, but these furry fellows were the first critters we stopped at and we'd still be there if Atticus had his way.

So into the carrier he went (notice the monkey business going on in the background...we saw this in most every cage that had 2 inhabitants {it was spring time after all} and each time Atticus would exclaim, "Monkey-back ride!")

A common sight when he's got wheels.

First time I've seen a cheetah.

Love how he's hanging over the front.

At virtually every cage Atticus asked if he could, "Hold him, Mommy?"

Atticus is a big turtle fan for some reason. This is probably the biggest one he's ever seen and was quite taken by it.

"Hold him, Mommy?"

His new turtle catching a ride with Grandpa.

Just before we left the zoo the raptor show was starting so we got to see an owl and a hawk flying around very close overhead. This guy was actually really funny and the show really good.

Mesmerized.

Supper at the Browne's that evening was a good opportunity for Dillon to show off his back bending abilities...

But he did lighten up later on.

And Atticus latched on to Graham (for some reason at the zoo Atticus would call Graham 'Dad' {he calls Vincent 'Daddy'}). At first Atti is kind of aloof and cool towards new people, but after he gets comfortable he is such a sweet and friendly little guy. He still talks about 'Uncle Graham'.

He stole Dillon's soother and went to hang out with the other soother baby.
