This and That...

The other morning I was in the bathroom brushing my teeth. Both kids were in there with me playing on the floor when I noticed that Dillon all of the sudden had something all in his hair. Since I was using my electric toothbrush again (had taken a hiatus) I figured that I must have flung toothpaste around and it landed in Dill's hair (strange, but what else could it have been?). Instead of washing it out I just sort of styled his hair and went with that.

It wasn't until later that day when I caught Atticus wiping his nose on Dillon's head that I learned the real story behind the mysterious 'hair product'...

And since we're on the topic; Atticus will freely wipe his nose just about anywhere. He'll sit on the potty and bend forward and wipe his nose on the floor between his feet, on the kitchen table (and not on the tablecloth, but on the plain bare wood surface), on anyone that happens to be near him, the living room carpet, Dillon (obviously), a book, his booster seat, the sofa, a cousin...really, the list could just go on and on. If you come on over here, be warned!

And in Dillon news; he's crawling up a storm and pulling himself up to stand (still having difficulty grasping the whole hanging-onto-something idea). He likes to stand at the book shelf and pull out all the books...

But they fall on his feet and make him cry.

Atticus has been practicing up for when he can take his 'motorcycle' (it faithfully remains a motorcycle regardless of how many times we correct him) out of doors. And he just got rubber boots so, of course, the 3 can't be parted. And, no, he rarely wears pants at home. He always wears underwear at home and he's really good about using the potty until he has pants on and then he's not quite as dependable yet.

We got the wagon put together since the sidewalks are clearing of snow. There are seat belts in it so it works really well for Dillon not slipping off the seat. I got Atticus all dressed up in his splash pants and rubber boots so he could play in the puddles without soaking himself (too much), but he refused to get out of the wagon and walk. Not sure if Dillon made it out of the yard without falling asleep. That boy just can't stay awake in anything with wheels!

What'd I tell ya!?!

It really wasn't this cold. I likely dressed him up too warm and he'd actually just passed out from heat exhaustion (he did spring alive once we got home, so no harm no foul...)

It was Auntie Dianne's birthday party yesterday. Anna put on a good spread and it was great to see a bunch of family there (lots of little kids). On the way over there Atticus was singing, 'Happy Birthday, Aunt-a-Dianne', but wasn't about to perform once we got there.

Little cupcakes for the kiddies, but of course he just ate the Easter eggs off the top and left the rest.

Ayda might need to move up a size in diapers...

All the kiddies at the party (a familiar bunch).

What are ya doin', Dill...?

This was the musical entertainment. Jared was playing the horn, Atticus was on sax, and Zayda was the flutist. Atticus ran around dancing as he played this (it made music on it's own), loved it even more than the truck he was fighting with Jared over just prior to his saxophone discovery. His dance is too cute.

Playing for the birthday girl.

Last night ALL the cousins were over to watch, 'Bolt' (cute movie, love the hamster). For some reason Atticus decided that he would bully Ayda at every and any opportunity. Every time we turned around he had her in a headlock. Poor little girl spent a lot of time with her feet off the floor being strangled; many tears were shed (sorry, Allie, it's true). Or he'd run from one side of the room as fast as he could and just bowl her over like he was a linebacker. Or smack her on the head, pinch her, push her...he just really had it in for her. Needless to say, he spent many a moment in 'time out'.

Little string bean Dillon (long! and lean!) started getting the hang of hanging-on today. He and Atticus are able to play nicely together many times, but when they have something the other one wants (which is pretty much guaranteed) they'll (both) fight tooth and nail for it.
