Easter Weekend...

Pulling ears; a sure sign a certain someone is ready for a nap.

On Friday (after a really disappointing Good Friday service) Carrie and the boys came over to decorate eggs. Most of the dye was made up of natural ingredients (tumeric, paprika, beet juice - hence the no shirt stipulation). They had a great time and we ended up with some nice looking eggs.

The egg decorating supervisor (they take you more seriously if you have a soother in your mouth).

Atti's 3 eggs are the 2nd row from the top.

Atticus trying to smile normally...

And trying again, without much success.

Not sure why, but Atticus has been on a bullying tear these last few weeks. If Ayda's over he picks on her, if it's just Dillon around then he gets all the abuse. He'll just go up and push little Dill over, give him a kick (he usually asks first if he can, for example, kick Dillon), hit him on the head. He doesn't do it very hard, but Dillon typically reacts as though he's been beaten up. Well, Atticus was at it again this morning so I put him in his room for a time out. Usually he just sits on his bed and looks pitiful, but today he decided to do something with his time. This was the outfit he came out in. He's the fashion maverick in the family.

Today was the first really nice, sunny day out this spring. I let Atticus take his 'motorbycle' (he still firmly believes it not to be a tricycle but a motorcycle, however he is willing to concede it may now, possibly, be a motorcycle mixed with a bicycle, and 'motorbycle' is the name he came up with). He pretty good at it, can even steer relatively well, but if there is even the slightest incline he'll just give up.

Our neighbor got a new puppy. I'm pretty sure Atticus didn't believe us when we told him that this indeed was a dog, but he was still intrigued with it.

Dad was taking down the Christmas lights, and since it involved a ladder, Atti was in there like a dirty shirt. If I hadn't pried his hands off of it he'd have climbed clear to the top (and then asked if he could jump down!).

Dad gave Atticus the job of winding up the Christmas light cord. He took this job very seriously and was very proud of his finished work. And then he took the whole thing and threw it as far as he could.

They just took the Christmas lights down across from NYNY three weeks ago too... If it were my house, I'd probably just leave them up! Good on your dad for getting to it! And good on Atti for being such a helper!!!
