My cousin, Alisha, had her first baby 5 days ago. His name is Keaton and we were lucky enough to be able to have him come over today. His Mommy had to go back into the hospital yesterday, and his Daddy needed a few hours this afternoon to get bit of sleep. The moment I saw Keaton baby Dillon immediately looked like a toddler.
Dillon was enthralled with him. He's usually the littlest one in the group, but today he got to play the 'big cousin' for a change.
"You're not my Mommy!?!"
Atticus happily came in from jumping on the trampoline so he could see baby Keaton. If Grandma happened to leave the room with Keaton Atticus would get all concerned as to his whereabouts. He just loved to stand and look at him (he really wanted to hold him, but since Keaton doesn't belong to us I told him he could just sit beside me while I held him).
Atticus really loved having Keaton here, and we all felt very honored to take care of him for a few hours. He's welcome back any time.
We went for a long walk after dinner. Stopped by a park and Dillon got to swing for the first time; he laughed his little heart out! When we got back home Atticus burned off his last bit of energy jumping (he even got Grandma on it). I'm going to send him out to the trampoline every night before bed so he sleeps like a log!
