I went to a craft show a few months back and was immediately drawn to Al Weitzel's booth. I love his work (acrylic painter/scratch artist) and when I have a house to hang some art in I will definitely buy something of his. Mom and I took the boys for an almost 2 hour walk today and it turns out Al Weitzel's gallery is quite near Mom and Dad's house so we stopped in to talk to him and look at his beautiful work. He had a really great rhino (although I'm not sure where in one's house you'd hang a rhino) that, from a distance, looks like a photograph.
I asked him if he could do one of Silas and he said he could, but the price would be $1,000+. Hmmm, have to think about that...
This one of the 3 draft horses was the one that grabbed my attention at the craft show. I love how it's so black, but still so bright looking at the same time. I LOVE this stuff.
