Until next summer...

I promised Atticus that after he had lunch and a nap today I'd take him swimming. He was so excited to go he opted out of lunch and went straight to the nap. And then proceeded to nap for almost 3 hours. I was considering postponing the swim trip to the next day since we were going to be cutting it a bit short (pool closed at 5 and by 3 he still wasn't awake), but when he finally did awaken he flew up the stairs and shouted 'SWIMMING!'.  We managed to get to the pool in time for a good hour of splashing fun.

When we got there there was a sign posted telling us all that this was the last day the pool would be open for the season. I was terribly glad I didn't break the little kid's heart and put it off until the next day; hard one to explain to a 2 year old.

Busy day at the pool, too. Everyone must have promised their precious children 1 final swim outing if they had lunch and a nap.

The indoor pool we go to in the winter is much more interactive and fun for kids, but they have all winter to be inside so I prefer to go to the outdoor ones as long as we can. It's going to be a long winter season that starts at the end of August!
