I'm taking the kids to my friend's farm about 1 1/2 hours away tomorrow and Friday. I know I'll take more pictures than humanly possible so I wanted to post the last few days so I don't have to stay up all night Friday trying to catch up.
Not sure when the last time was that I went to one of Ryan's soccer games but we decided to all go on Sunday. I believe they cleaned up the field with the other team, but I can't be sure as I hardly watched any of it what with all the climbing, chasing, screaming, rock eating, and fighting going on. I guess the kids haven't learned the appreciation of sitting still and watching a sporting event yet.
This was a very short lived sitting still.
Made cookies to take with us to the farm. The blur is Atticus making a lightning fast dive into the cookie dough immediately after I said (repeatedly) not to put his hand in the dough.

And Dillon went for his 1 year check-up. He's grown in all areas in exactly the same ratio as he did at his 6 month check-up. He's still a string bean, but feisty and wiry and gives his big brother a run for his money.

Yesterday was a beautiful day to go swimming (32 degrees), but we had other plans so I took Atti today instead. It wasn't the hottest day ever but it was warm enough to not notice that it wasn't 32 degrees out.

He saw another boy swimming in a breast stroke sort of way and he was determined to copy him. He had the kicking and arm motion down pretty good, but wasn't exactly sure what to do with his head.

We found a dragonfly that hadn't learned how to swim. And if he hadn't already met his maker before we'd found him I'm pretty sure he would've soon after.

His treat for being so brave and putting his face under water, and trying to swim like the other children. Despite the picture he really was happy about it.

Kids both went to bed terribly tonight (not sure our ride will happen in the morning, Chris...), but hopefully they'll sleep well and wake up happy and ready for our little farm adventure (Atticus really hopes there'll be cows - he prayed about it).
