I've had some pretty amusing conversations with Atticus, but today might have been one of the funniest. I'll set the scene.
Dill and Atti are playing in the living room, I'm in the kitchen. All the sudden Dill starts crying so I hurry into the living room to see who did what to whom. Dill tells me Atti took his soother and threw it.
Me...'Atticus, did you take Dillon's soother and throw it?'
Atticus...'No.'
Me...'Are you telling me the truth.'
Atticus...'No, I'm saving the truth for later.'
At this point it took a whole lotta effort to not laugh.
Me...'You should always tell the truth, Atticus. Do remember the story we read about Pinocchio?'
Atticus...'Yes, but it's ok; I'll just push my nose back in.'
No word of a lie, that is how the conversation went down.
