Atticus is chugging along on the potty train. I thought it might be helpful to have some toddler books about using the potty so I got, "Once Upon a Potty", "A Potty For Me", and "Where's the Poop?". Cute little books, but I'm not sure how many times finding the poop will remain cleaver.
Anyways, on to another topic...
Feeling a bit stressed and tired about this move to Canada. Vin and I are really feeling stuck between what we want to do and what we think is the best thing for our kids, and what some of our family thinks. We will never make everyone happy, but when did it become about making everyone happy? Why isn't it enough that we're just trying to take care of our kids in the best way we know how and make a good life for our little family? When will it be enough? When will particular people in our lives just love us and accept us for who we are and what we're trying to do and stop trying to make us be something they want us to be and do something that is only in their own best interest?
We're embarking on a week of possible big changes. I wanted this blog to be a place I could go to really say what I want, but more times than not I have to edit what I say (or not say anything at all) for fear of offending certain people. But this is a difficult time for Vin and I and I'm going to start saying what I want to say.
That being said, we're planning on putting our house in Taipei up for sale this week (assuming it's ready for the realtor to take pictures of it). There have been a lot bad feelings over this and Vin isn't sure if some relationships will make it out alive, but we want and need to be looking for a house here (with the $ to back it up). I think he and I have both aged a couple years in the last 6 months, and it shows in the expression on my face at this very moment (all shrunken up and furrowed) .
Big sigh.
I hope this week brings some advancement in our plans to establish ourselves here. And I hope that it comes with minimal damage to our opposition.

You know you have our full support - no matter what! I think a movie night might be in order this week...
Ohh, a movie would be divine! Let's plan on it this week.
I am only guessing and surmissing but I know that with adult children on 2 continents it is EXTREMELY hard to let them make their own choices especially when that means I see less of them.
Love will prevail.
