Keeping on top of things while I can...

The power cord to my MacBook is broken so unless I can charge it using Ryan and Allie's cord I won't have access to my precious computer for 2-3 weeks when my new one comes in (on warranty so free, $120 if it wasn't on warranty!). I managed to snag their cord today so I thought I'd better post.

BEAUTIFUL day today. It was somewhere in the +'s  so I took Atticus outside to repair Mr. Snowman. He doesn't much care about anything else but digging with his digger in the snow, so that's what he did while I un-emaciated the snowman.

Showing the snowman some love.

Atop Mt. Lu.

Atticus used to (still does) hang over the front of the stroller (floating harnesses, what a great idea), and now Dillon has started doing it too. Mom and I had taken the kids downtown. I bought a bathing suit in October and in the 4 months I've had it the band of printed material around the waist faded to a completely different color. For the (ridiculous) price I paid for it I thought it shouldn't have turned so ugly so quickly. I was all prepared to go into the store and have to get nasty, but wouldn't you know when I showed them how much the suit had changed the lady said, "What would you like me to do? Refund or exchange?"

Pick my jaw up from off the floor.

"Oh, well, I guess I'll just exchange for a solid color suit."

We were over at Ryan and Allie's house on Sunday and we peeked into the livingroom to see Atticus and Ayda playing really nicely together. Atti had her between his legs and had his arms around her and were playing cars. They typically play pretty good together.

Dillon is not much of a cuddler like this. It is rare that he does this unless he's exceptionally tired, so when he does decide to cuddle up it's such a sweet thing.

Yesterday I took the boys for their first round of vaccinations in Canada. Atticus had a few in Taiwan, but I'm really careful about how many they get, what they get,  how many at a time they get, what's in the vaccine etc. etc... I learned a lot since I had Atticus so Dillon only got 1 vaccination before we came to Canada. Anyways, Atticus had 3 shots (2 more than I approve of at one visit) and Dillon had 2. I'm not a fan of the 6,000 vaccines in 1 shot business, but I did end up compromising  a bit (it means more visits, thus more discomfort for the kids, but I firmly believe it's worth sacrificing comfort for safety). Atticus cried and said, "Sorry", as though he'd done something wrong (ahhh, broke my heart a little), and of course Dillon heard him crying so he started as well. When it was Dill's turn Atticus sat far far away and didn't make a peep. Dill cried, but only briefly. They got toothbrushes for their bravery and were tickled pink with them.

Yes, he's a long and lean little guy (he's got his dad's good posture). He's 17 pounds of spunk.

He's definitely turned into a leaner kid (just found out that once they hit 2 years old they cease to be toddlers and become pre-schoolers, did not know that). He hit the scales at 28 pounds (which is why he can still sit on the baby scale). The nurse commented that both boys had a head circumference that allowed for great "developmental growth" (in layperson, really big heads).

"Lightning McQueen" wasn't running as smoothly as Grandpa thought he should so he got a tune up.

I started Atticus potty training back in November and he did pretty well. But then he sort of lost interest (maybe so did I) so we shelved it for a few months until he hit 2 years old. Well, he's now been 2 for a couple weeks and today it was time to hit the potty again. At first I stationed him at the fridge so he could play with his magnets (thanks, Clarks!) and he peed once. Then we moved over the to computer so he could watch a movie and he peed 2 more times (on the potty!). He did have one little accident on his booster seat while he ate lunch, but he sure did a good job for his first morning of potty training. I plan to keep him at home for the rest of the week to see if we can't get on a roll. I'm really interested to see how, or if, it'll be any different than a couple months ago.
