Happy Mother's Day 2010

It wasn't the nicest of days, but it wasn't raining and it wasn't snowing, so we'll count it as all good. We all got together at the Forestry Farm for lunch, and since there was only 1 run home to get more jackets it was a pretty big success.

Grandma and some of her many great-grandchildren.

Atticus and Aaron doing some 'focus mitt' training.

Aaron being a really good sport.

Cameron is a month younger than Dillon. Whenever they get together Cameron always seems so cheerful and eager to play. Dillon, on the other hand, is usually at his moodiness and very much uninterested in playing (as much as I try to convince him otherwise). Today was no different.

But put him next to Cameron and a sour-puss emerges.

Monkeys here.

Monkeys there.

Monkeys, monkeys everywhere.

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there. Did any of you have anything particularly sweet happen for/to you? I got a really cute card from both my boys, but the one from Dillon was particularly appropriate. I was sitting in the livingroom reading Saturday's paper when Dillon came in and gave me a card. I opened and read, 'I know I can be a little stinker sometimes...'

And just when I said 'stinker', Dillon, who'd been standing right next to me, grabs his bottom and says, 'tinker'.

It was right on cue and oh so precious.
