Atticus dumped out the clean, folded laundry (again, SUNSHINE) and stacked the bathroom stool on top of the laundry hamper. He passed the contraband down to Dillon's awaiting hands (and mouth), but I caught the attempt in the act and foiled - most - of their plan. (this picture was actually during an earlier crime of the same description - they're serial stealers of Valentine's candy)
I switched to the bedroom phone (no cordless in my room) and told Mom what they were doing (Atticus telling me in the background, 'Mom, go out of here and close the door'). Since I didn't 'go out of here and close the door', the kids decided to abort plan A and move on to plan B.
From my place in my room I ask, literally 2 minutes after they leave, 'What are you boys doing?'
'Eating ice cream with our fingers!'
He's never one to lie about the naughty business he engages in and drags his little brother into.
I go into the kitchen and low and behold the little stinkers are eating ice cream with their fingers. Atticus had scooted the chair over to the freezer and helped himself to the ice cream and, likely, handed it down to his little accomplice. They hefted it onto the table, took the lid off, and tried to eat as much as they could before I could run in and spoil yet another plan. So, on to plan C (within 10 minutes of plan B)...
I can only imagine what they were after in this incidence, but the casualties were a big, full bag of cranberries and a container of granola. Subsequently Atticus had a time-out in his room and Dillon got some very serious looks a stern talking to (ah, c'mom, he's only little).
Before Atti settled into his time-out he had to do a bit of a number on his (actually Dillon's) bed and drop a lovely load in his pants. Of course he did, of course.
However, on closer inspection (while Dillon was happily in the kitchen emptying an entire mixing bowl of water on the floor) I found that all his monkey-business had really wiped the kid out.
Dillon did offer to help with the cleanup (after he found himself some underwear to put on), but I think the exercise may have been lost on him. And I'm very sure he'll eagerly jump at the very next opportunity to make a mess and get into trouble (which would have been minutes later if his brother had have been awake).
He, too, finally did wear out, but not before Atticus woke up. Trouble sure is tiring. Just goes to show we can't take our eyes off these 2 for more than a minute at a time. And I KNOW that's tiring.
Off to the airport. On the way there (both times...) Atticus asked if Vincent lived there, 'Do you live here, Daddy?' One would think so sometimes, but it's the nature of his job to travel (not to mention his family lives overseas), but I guess to a 3 year old it seems like we drop Daddy off at the airport and then pick him up from there some time later. How is he supposed to understand that Daddy doesn't just hang out at the airport watching the airplanes and eating Timbits?
Checking flight schedules?
Ah, the real reason every one goes to the airport.
He's got aTimbit stuffed in the front of his mouth. I'm surprised it's not more.
Sharing a drink. We're working on it.
Daddy's bird.
Last summer Atticus wiped out running down the driveway pushing a dump truck and busted off part of his front tooth on the cement. I thought for sure it'd turn brown and nasty, but it never did. It looks a bit crooked just because of the angle it broke off of at, but it's still lovely and white so I wasn't worried about it.
About 3 weeks ago he pulled Dillon over and Dillon's head hit the front tooth directly beside his busted off tooth. Wouldn't you know it that one has now turned grayish/brown. Not the one that hit cement, but the one that hit Dillon's head.

Go figure.

Wow, that's a lot of excitement in a short time! I hope things go well for you while Vin's away.
Your boys are a RIOT!! I know they wear you out (down, thin...), but you have to admire their persistence.
