Oh, Corey.

I loved Corey Haim. Back in the 80's his blue eyes and cheekiness in Lost Boys (I still love that movie) won my heart. I believe this very poster was on my wall for more years than I care to admit (Kirk Cameron and Johnny Depp were up there, too, but Corey was by far the star of the show). Even in my adult years if someone had asked me who of my younger year 'loves' (and there were many) I'd want to meet it'd have been this guy. He ran circles around NKOTB in his day.

I was really sad to hear of his death, sadder yet to know he took his own life. It's hard to think that this sweet kid in the poster on my bedroom wall grew up to have such demons in his life. Demons so great that he could face them no longer and ended it all.

Suicide is so sad. So final. So destroying to those left behind. I know he was very close to his Mom, and I'm sure she is living her own personal hell right now.

And here all these young girls back in the 80's thought he had the world by the tail...all the posters on the walls...the secret dreams of wedded bliss (yes, I'll admit I had those dreams as well)...the thinking that these kid stars have it all...wishing, dreaming, longing...

Ahh, poor kid; being a child star is just not all it's made out to be.

Rest in peace, dear Corey. I'm so sorry you couldn't find it here on Earth.
