Ethan had his 8th birthday party on Monday. Initially it was a rather overcast day, but as it progressed the sun came out and we could have his party outside in his backyard. This is the first time Atticus had been in their backyard and played in their sandbox. I think he would have been happy to stay in there all evening, but I made him come out to decorate his cupcake.
Ethan got this remote controlled spider from a friend for his birthday. I thought it'd scare Dillon, but he actually chased it (well, as fast as you can 'chase' when you're crawling) around.

He got into Grandpa's deodorant again (I don't encourage this behavior, but he sure likes to smell fresh when he goes to bed).
The Children's Festival started yesterday. I'm told that the weather is always really crummy for it, but so far the weather has been really nice (other than wind, but what's new). Mom, my Grandma, Dillon, Atticus, and I went to a play called, "The Boy Who Could Fly". It was rated for 7 years old and up, so I wasn't sure how the boys would do, but they found the show funny and entertaining and Atticus stayed interested for the entire 50 minutes of the play. It was about a boy who likes to spend all his time playing computer games but through a mishap ends up learning a few things from his circus performing neighbor. I thought Atticus would like the silk climbing part and he did. I'm now just waiting for the day I walk into the living room and he's climbing the curtains...
We didn't mean to cut the line, but what we thought was the back of the line ended up being the front so we got front row seat!!

Waiting for the show to start.
And then today I had tickets for just Atticus and I to go to "O Cano" and it was FANTASTIC! We got down to the festival site an hour early so we walked around and came across the biggest ball Atti's ever seen. Spellbound.

Then grabbed some popcorn and watched Paul Benjamin on the open stage. He was great with the kids and I may have just learned how to salsa dance from him (it was the seriously child friendly instructions).

"O Cano". Wow. I was so impressed. I couldn't do justice to the show to try and explain it. Just know that if you ever have a chance to see the show GO! Atticus thought it was so funny and, frankly, so did I. I was hoping they had a DVD with the show they performed on it but they didn't. A Brazilian treat.

One big sucker, and it got him walking to the car without complaint and lasted all the way home.
We have one more show tomorrow, and although it's not likely to be as good as the one today I think Atticus will enjoy it as well.
