Now you see it, now you don't...

About 10 years ago I traveled around Canada taking portraits of children. It always amazed me at how many mothers would bring in their children and ask me to get pictures of the kids smiling, but not showing teeth. They didn't want the fact that their kid had lost a tooth (or many) to be evident in the pictures.

Why? Here you're getting pictures done to show what your child looked like when s/he was 2, 5, 8 or whatever, but having or not having teeth sort of goes along with that. That's what s/he looked like.

So, until Atticus gets his adult teeth the rest of his pictures will be minus 1/2 a front tooth. It really only seemed like a matter of time, but today was the day he wiped out driving his digger and the speed and cornering were all too much for that one tooth (or 1/2 of it anyways).

And don't think I didn't scour the driveway looking for that broken off piece cause I did my best to locate it, but it's likely in Atticus' belly because I sure couldn't find it.

Looks like he was in a rumble.

Like a little vampire tooth.

That's actually licorice, not blood.

Hardly looks like anything happened in this photo.

Quick recovery.
