For some reason when we got home from the Festival of Trees I took Atticus into the bathroom with a little bowl of candies, the computer, and a glimmer of hope. We've had Atti's potty in the bathroom for a few weeks now, but until tonight he'd never wanted to sit on it. He was happy to sit with his feet IN the potty, or sit on the lid of the potty, but when I'd ask him to sit ON the potty he didn't want to. Since he's not even 2 yet I didn't want to push it on him so I've just been waiting until he gives me an indication that he's ready.
Well, the last week he's been telling me when he (already) peed or pooped. That seemed like a good start, that brings me back to tonight. He wanted a candy so the deal was he had to sit on the potty to have one. I set up the computer on the toilet infront of him so he could watch cartoons, eat his little candies, and, hopefully, put something in his potty.
After only a few minutes he quickly stood up and looked into the potty and wouldn't you know it he had actually peed. And not just a few drops, but a real pee. I was so surprised, so happy, and so proud of that little guy. His grandma and grandpa and I all threw a little mini pee-pee party of whoops and congratulations for him.
Guess where we'll be sitting bright and early in the morning!

That looks and sounds like celebrations of many sorts!
Congrats! Great start!
sweet news!!!!! Gemma won't even tell us when she has to poop anymore because she doesn't want anything to do with the potty. Uggg.
It's been a good start, but it's still a work in progress. Persistence is a must!
