While Vin's been gone...

We've been busy, even though it pretty much rained every day since he left. I worked a few days last week, but what I really wanted to do was to just hang out with the boys and do what we wanted, when we wanted, in whatever way we wanted.

And we did.

We spent the afternoon one day last week at the river. We had our lunch and ice cream (Bubblegum all around) at the Red Bus before heading out on the river path. It managed to be a really sunny day and the kids were great.

Try as I might to get the boys to walk on a separate path beside each other (better picture) they would not concede. Even to space themselves out a bit...nope.

A couple of police officers biked over and gave the boys some tattoos (they said they didn't want this pic ending up on FB, and this isn't FB so it should be ok, right?). Nice guys, but Dill had none of it.

But the 'tatts' were a hit.

I didn't think to bring the boys' trunks, or even a change in clothes, so Atticus got completely soaked and had to walk back to the truck wet. Dill not so much. Good day for it, though. Next time I'll be more prepared.

He was over-joyed to be able to ride home in his drawers (what is with boys and LOVING to be in as little clothing as possible, if any at all!?!).

We even managed supper out to a restaurant that was not 'Jerry's' (kid's play area there) or Fuddrucker's (kid's noise is masked in all the noise that is Fudd's).

Last Thursday was 'bring a friend' to gymnastics class, so Atticus brought Jared with him.  Afterwards we went to the MS barbeque and signed up for the MS Bike Tour in September. So far, Vin, Ryan, Chris, and myself are on a team together. If any of you are interested in joining us feel free to ask me about how to do that, and if you're not interested in joining our team you're more than welcome to SPONSOR US (more on this in another post, but I will be asking!).

We then brought Jared home for the night (of restlessness and chronic waking up of every one; really, I went from one bedroom to the other soothing boys all night long).

Jared is apprehensive about riding a bike, so he chose push the dump truck while Atti rode his bike and Dill hitched a ride in the stroller.

Not to be left out of the digging fun.

Whoever thought of the dual slides must have had this in mind.

And later that day it was off to (my) Grandma's 91st birthday. Dill was fine before the picture and after the picture, but put him in an organized photo and he revolts. Happy Birthday, Grandma!

Another nice day yesterday (really, it did rain a lot the other days!), I may have even gotten a bit of a tan.  We went to Kinsmen Park for a picnic (just us 3; we roll like that) and then a train and merry-go-round ride (it made me want to heave, so we had to leave after that).

I believe this to be his fighting stance. He practices often on Dillon.

Atticus took this picture (he also took another one of me that is funny, but totally inappropriate for y'all).

The merry-go-round, aka, the merry-go-barf.

And then we went and got groceries and washed the truck. All in all we were gone the entire afternoon and came home ready for a big old nap. And house cleaning. And supper making. And laundry doing. And bath giving.

Vin gets home today, so we're off to the airport shortly.
