The search for employment begins...

Dillon was drumming on Silas at the top of the stairs last night before bed. Atticus has been diligently teaching Dill how to 'drum' like a pro, and since Silas doesn't seem to mind he practices his craft on him once Atticus goes to bed (but finishes it off with a kiss).

Today was haircut day. All three of the boys were looking a bit shaggy so I booked them all an appointment at Beaners.  It is a children's salon, but it makes things much easier if they can all just get their hair done at the same time...and Ryan gets his hair cut there with his kids so it can't be all that weird. The weirdest part was that no one cried. Not a single tear. Not a whimper. Not a sideways glance.  Nothing.

So, good job, Vin! You did us all proud!

While the boys waited for Vin to get his hair cut they played in the ball pool. I can't believe how happy the kids were considering it was 4 o'clock and neither of them had had a nap! They were so good. So, so good. And their haircuts are so cute. It's so fun to see what a difference it always makes in how grown-up they look after a haircut (well, this was only Dillon's 2nd real haircut).

The boys and I found some yoga tattoos ('Easyoga' - I love Easyoga stuff; we have an Easyoga blanket that is to die for!) that they were thrilled to put on. Atticus has been very concerned that they'll wash off, or rub off, or Silas will chew them off (??), but so far they remain unscathed right where they are. And he is very proud to show anyone that will look.

ETR...The job search is going well. Vin will teach a couple classes at World Gym on Saturday and Monday, and has a few other things up his sleeve as well. We'll keep ya'll posted.

That is so funny - I took the kids for cuts at Beaners at 12:30 today! And for the record, Ryan has only had his hair cut there once, and didn't really like the result. I hope Vincent's turned out better! I'd hate to be partially responsible for a bad haircut! It would be great for him to be able to go at the same time as the kids, but he needs to like his cut, too! He actually went because our regular hairdresser moved to China to teach. Boo - we miss her and now I don't know where to go! Anyway, Beaners is GREAT for kids and sometimes good for adults.

I think he was ok with it, but when I went to pay she said she had to make special notes for how he wanted his hair cut (for next time) because it was so different than what anyone would ever ask for...

And here I thought it was pretty much the same as when he walked in, but shorter.

I swear by 'Haarley's'! Ask for Janet and you won't regret it (neither will your hair).

THAT'S GREAT NEWS about Vin's resumes... we're looking forward to confirming good news!!! And you're right - those boys look SOOOOOOOOOO grown up with haircuts - especially Vin, I mean Dill... we actually haven't cut Helena's hair yet so don't know what that will be like when the time comes... but for now we stick to daddy's clippers for Hunter - but may try a pony trick :)
