It was Carrie's birthday on Thursday. We had Ayda for the day so we met up with Carrie and the boys at the Forestry Farm for a picnic.

Long day, kids?
I guarantee you that Ayda is eyeing up that soother and wondering why on earth Dillon wouldn't leave it in this mouth (you lucky duck!).
She can't help herself; as soon as the soother is out of Dill's mouth (and sometimes it is...) she HAS to put it back in (it's what she'd want him to do for her if she were so lucky as to still have her soother).
Atticus wanted to hold Ayda's hand, but she wasn't at all interested.
I told him she didn't want to hold his hand, but maybe he could just put his hand on her shoulder instead. She promptly shut him down. Poor kid, being rejected already (and by his own cousin).
After the picnic and naps we got out the paddling pool and let them paddle (yes, that's Ayda, and yes, she's wearing {Dillon's!!} trunks).
And then the fun came to a screeching halt....
The family all gathered 'round again later in the evening for birthday cake.
You should see the other side of the cake; it's as though the berries are just creatively falling off the cake.

Ryan's first comment when he saw Ayda in the pool was, "That looks like me!" And don't feel too bad, Atti. She rejects Jared sometimes, too. Next time it'll be the other way around!
I thought the same thing as Ryan, a little mini Ryan in the form of Ayda.... The picnic in the park was a great way to spend a lunch hour - thanks to all for a fun day!
