It was a wonderful -17 degrees today with no wind. What a great way to start 2009! Atticus and I decided to take advantage of the bright sunshine and go do some shoveling (truth be told, Dad had done it already). This was the first time that there has really been a big amount of snow that warranted playing in it this winter. Atticus took to shoveling like a duck to water and had a lot of fun playing around in the deep snow and going for a toboggan ride around the neighborhood.

I fashioned a bit of a hill on the front lawn to slide down but the toboggan is too long so it doesn't work too well and tips over rather easily (although Atticus thought that was just part of the fun). I'll have to go and get a little one for hill sliding.

I pulled him all over the neighborhood and by the time we were almost home he'd fallen asleep. However, the moment we pulled into the driveway he sprung alive and pleaded, "No! Boggan!" I think he'd have been happy to have his afternoon nap there.

Thats a great old school tobogan you've got! I have no way of getting my two guys around in the snow...I've only got a little one seater :) I just opt to stay indoors most of the time :)
