It's been a day since I've gone from a horse owner of 2 to a horse owner of 1 and it's easier already. Someone came out to see Pete today and totally wasted my time but she wasn't at all able to heave herself onto her suited to Pete so Petie Pie remains. I think I may change my direction and go totally western with her (which isn't something I really aspire to do) and see if I can't work out some of the race horse in her and convince her that her racing days are over and she'd really like to be a trail/ranch horse (and not just on the trail or ranch but ALSO in the arena; IT'S NOT A MINI RACETRACK, PETE!!).
The kids have been spending a great deal of time with Grandma and Grandpa, and Uncle Chris and the boys while I've been working/showing the horses/selling the horses/delivering the horses...Good thing I'm down to one horse or I'm not sure how much longer my 'help' with be so willing to help.
