Monday was Family Day, and although I'd just gotten off the night shift that morning, we packed our gang up and went to the speed skating oval to skate. Dillon was not inclined to be put down at all, so there was no skating had by him, but Atticus put in a good effort.
Very thankful Vin can skate well enough to carry Dillon around. I was initially the one holding him but between walking from the door to the rink my feet slipped right out in front of me and both Dillon and I landed on our bottoms.
Rest period #1.
Rest period #2.
Rest period #3.
Finally on his feet and ready to take on the speed skating oval.
Mom and Dad showed up near the end, but because Vin had to work (or so we thought!) we had to leave quickly after. It was a pretty nice day in terms of temperature, but there was a chilly wind so likely a few times around the rink was enough anyways. Happy Family Day!!
Yesterday was a beautiful day. I think it was hovering around 0 degrees, so we pushed the kids out the door for some fresh air. The only toboggan we have is the long wooden one with sides, and it doesn't lend itself well to quick turns and fast decents.
So, this is what Vin came up with; the plastic sheet has a hole in it for Atticus' head, and then it goes doen the length of his body (his back, not like the picture is showing), Atticus lays on it and Vin holds the end and drags him around the yard.
Ya, like this. It worked alright, but his body would slip off the side
So, they moved on to the shovel. If he sat backwards he'd slip off the back, so I suggested he turn around.
And it worked much better.
Dillon couldn't hang on going frontwards, so he had to go backwards.
And slipped off.
But it was all fun and we enjoyed the nice weather, sunshine and fresh air.
