The kids, namely Atticus, have been going to bed far too late these last few nights. They then wake up at 9:30 or 10 and aren't ready for a nap at the desired nap time, which is 12:30pm. Subsequently they (Atticus) go down for a nap at 2:30 and are then in no way ready for bed at 8:30. Ends up being almost 11pm before Atticus finally shuts it down and I'm not on board with that schedule! So, in an attempt to get us back on a normal schedule I decided that we'd skip nap time altogether yesterday and just go to bed at a decent hour. We were doing good until about 4pm, but then the kiddies wanted to read books. Not good. Noooooot good. We were found this way by Mom and Dad when they arrived home at 6pm...So much for going to bed at a decent hour.
Atticus is head over heels for my cousin's dog, Ranger. He's a great dog with kids and Atticus just squeals with delight when Ranger does the slightest thing. He's not going to believe his good fortune when Silas shows up in 3 weeks and actually gets to live with him. He is a boy that needs a dog. (I think Silas and Ranger will get along really well too.)

When Atticus was Dillon's age he used to spend a lot of time playing in the sink water. He'd have all kinds of tools and pots busy and make a big watery mess. But he loved it and it gave him something to do when it was too cold or rainy out. The weather has taken a turn to the colder side so Atticus re-introduced himself to the joys of sink water, and brought his little brother along for the watery ride.

As I sit here writing this (it's 11:30pm, obviously napped too late again) Dillon is emptying out his Grandpa's t-shirt drawer 1 by 1 and bringing each one to me in the kitchen. It's the cutest thing; he trucks in here in his footed jammies holding a shirt, gives it to me and immediately turns around and leaves to go get another. I've got a pile of at least 8 shirts sitting beside me. I wonder if I can get him to put them all back when he's done?

I am afraid we have had some late naps and late nights here. It is so hard especially with Cheltzi being in school. I love the idea of letting the kids play in the sink water. I may have to give it a try.
