New (to us) house, new (to us) truck...

This is what we woke up to last Friday...

But the show must go on so Mom and Dad still had a garage sale at Grandpa's. It was cold and windy and not particularly pleasant and the boys and I stayed home for most of it.

We did sneak over in the late afternoon to see how things were going, but we didn't last long. Dang, it was too cold, too windy, too early for winter.

And that night Mom started preparing our Thanksgiving turkey since they'd be at the lake for the weekend. Atticus had seen the turkey thawing in a big roasting pot in the basement and, since we'd been out in the cold wind, asked it the turkey didn't have a head because it had blown away.

We had our Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday with Chris, Carrie and the boys and Grandma. Mom had pretty much made everything, Carrie brought potatoes, Grandma brought pie, Chris was on beverage duty, and I tossed a few veggies in the microwave. It was a nice dinner aside from the fact I totally forgot to make stuffing. Next year maybe.

He found a screwdriver. If he could/was allowed to carry one with him everywhere he went he would be a very content little kid. I let him have a few minutes of joy 'fixing' Dillon's toys, but had to break his heart and take it away.

Ah yes, I bought an SUV last week as well. This is the first one I'd looked at and ended up being the one I went back to and bought (this is Ryan checking out the underbelly before I bought it). It's a 2004 Dodge Durango Limited and I love it. I drove it home and there it has sat unmoved since the day I bought it - I really need carseats for the kids!

Mom was watching the boys while I was at our house working (oh ya, we got possession last Wednesday). When I came in the door I saw them sitting in a train. Apparently the driver jumped ship and moved to the caboose.

Dillon saw Atticus doing this (he copies a lot of what Atticus does) and thought he'd give it a try. He shuffled all over the kitchen floor in his boxes just as proud as can be.

It was a big week last week it was. We now have a house and a vehicle so we can get to said house. It's has been and will continue to be a busy few weeks.

Congrats on being able to use the hosue and car, ok SUV.

I wonder how much wind it would REALLY take to blow the head off a turkey? Hmm, don't hear of many headless birds after tornadoes....
