Sayer is 6 months old

Well, my little guy turned 6 months old today. Hard to believe. And I am actually documenting this on the day, not 3 months later when I found the opportunity!

Sayer is a really happy little boy. He will go to anyone, and greets everyone with a big toothless smile. He loves to jump in his jolly jumper, be carted around everywhere, watch his siblings goof around, and wake up numerous times in the night for snacks. He is a great little sitter, and can sit on his own pretty reliably for long stretches of time. He actually gets up on his hands and knees and rocks quite seriously trying to reach things out of reach. I expect he'll crawl within the month. I retired his baby bathtub so he had his first bath (on his own, he did have a big boy bath with his brothers a few weeks back) tonight just sitting in the big tub. He loved to splash and kick. The carseat is still an issue, but he actually will travel for very short periods of time without screaming. So, progress! Tonight we fed him his first 'solid'; sweet potato and butternut squash puree. He seemed to like it, until he got some down his throat. Then his face turned red, he coughed, choked, gasped, and then threw up everywhere. We'll try again tomorrow!

Sayer has just been such a great addition to our (not so) little family. His cheerfulness and happy disposition are so much fun to have around. Sutton has really taken a fondness to him recently. She loves to hug and kiss him, and she's the first one rushing into his room if he cries. And the big boys are a great help in holding and playing with him. It has been really exciting watching the 4 older kids develop their own relationships with him and see how lucky Sayer is to have  such a great support system of siblings.

I can't believe we're now closer to 1 year old than we are to his birth. Time sure does march on by.
